Tell me it’s okay to fly

Tell me it’s ok to fly

when everyone else is on the ground

Tell me it’s not wrong to try

even though others don’t understand

why I can’t stay where they are

Tell me it’s ok to touch the sky

to keep reaching upwards

Tell me I needn’t comply

with how others think

I should live my life

πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈ

Tell me it’s ok to be different

and follow my heart

Tell me I can do it

and that it’s never

EVER

too late to start

At 4am on February 5, 2025 I wake up with these lines going through my head after getting up to go to the bathroom:

~Tell me it’s ok to fly,

~when everyone else is on the ground.

I truly feel like this was a message of encouragement from God to me. As I was stumbling back from the bathroom (TMI, I know, but it’s how it happened so such is life), half asleep and groggy, it started going through my head on repeat. I was like what? Thankfully, I wrote a note on my phone. I have felt discouraged, wondering if I am wasting my time trying to still make time for writing. Maybe I just need to focus on being a wife and mother and nothing else, but this reminded me it’s ok. I hope it inspires you too with what you are passionate about, if you’ve had trouble justifying making some time for it. Don’t stay on the ground, take flight! Follow those dreams, even if in the season of life you are in there isn’t much time for it. Every little bit adds up. ❀️
