Fading fast
like soft and wispy
pinks, lavenders, indigo’s
cascading across the clouds
of a dwindling sunset
the sky darkens
into a moonless night
black and lifeless seeming
from heavy cloud cover
into endless gloom.
~
But a breeze slowly presses
until the cloud cover is gone
at first only a few stars
can be seen twinkling overhead
eventually the whole canvas
of the night sky
is filled with glowing lights
glimmers of hope
from afar.
~
For even in the darkness
even when all seems gone
there is still hope
there is still light
though it may be veiled
for a time.
